Exeter and Culm Vale Hornets Hockey Club will be competing in the top division of the Davis Wood Hockey League (WoESWHL) for the first time in the club’s history, during the 2011/12 season. It is the club’s intention to consolidate its position in this division and strive for future promotion to National league status.

ECV Hornets run 4 men’s league teams, 3 ladies league teams and have active junior and masters sections. We are a thriving Exeter and Mid Devon club looking to build on our recent success and create foundations for future growth.

We are seeking a Player Coach or Coach for the Men’s 1st XI , to help us to develop our squad and cascade improved quality and hockey excellence throughout the club.

You will be expected to work with the 1st XI captain as well as our club coaches to ensure a professional and co-ordinated approach. You will deliver an effective and developmental coaching programme that will aid the progression of the 1st XI squad and produce high quality performances on the pitch.

We are looking to fill the role with someone who has either played or coached hockey at a high level and is ideally level 2 or 3 qualified (or working towards). You must demonstrate good technical and tactical knowledge and inspire the team to reach their potential. You must be an effective communicator who can command the respect of the players and be an ambassador for the club both internally and externally.

Dear Member

Welcome to the 2010/2011 season.

As cheques will soon become a thing of the past, the club is introducing alternative ways of paying annual subs and match fees.

It will now be possible for you to pay a fixed amount, either as one amount or by fixed instalments, which will cover your subs for the 2010/2011 season, training and matches (league, friendly and cup) - however, this excludes mixed games, summer league and tournaments. You also have the ability of just paying for your subs by two instalments (or in one amount by cash/cheque, in the traditional way!) and continue to pay match fees on a weekly basis.

Form 1. Payment of subs and match fees by one online banking payment.
Form 2. Payment of subs and match fees by either two or five instalments by way of standing order
Form 3. Payment of subs by two instalments by way of standing order – match fees to be paid on day match played (£7.00 for senior players, £4.00 for others)

Should you become injured, and therefore unable to play, a refund of fees already paid up front for the remainder of the season will be considered.

If you are an occasional player, there is the option of paying £10.00 subs, with match fees of £10.00 payable on day of match. However, selection priority will be given to players who have paid full subs.

Whichever method you chose, a membership form must be completed.

If you have any queries, please either speak with your captain or me (I will be at training on Tuesdays), or you can e-mail me on treasurer@ecvhornets-hc.co.uk

Best wishes for a good season!!

Rosie Davey [left] who attends Richard Huish in Taunton and Claire Elworthy [right] who goes to Exeter College both made it through to the squad after a gruelling day of trials. Congratulations and good luck in the forth coming matches/tournaments.
