A huge Hockey welcome to the Junior section of our Club Website.

This new season has started with the good news that Grassroots Community Funding awarded the Junior section with a £2000 grant over 2 years. This will go to further improve our coaching staff and to enable us to offer the Young Leaders award to 20 Young players during the season.

At ECV Hornets, we strive to provide good quality and friendly coaching to young players of all abilities. Junior training is held at Culm Valley Sports Centre in Cullompton on Tuesday evenings. The Under 10s and 12s train from 6pm to 7pm with the under 14s and 16s from 7pm to 8pm.
School years 4,5,6 & 7 are under 10/12, and the older school years will be the under 14,16s.

Annual membership is just £5 for the juniors with training just £1.50 per week. However, for the older players who then play for the senior sides, the membership is £45.00 but this includes free training for the season.

All of the lead coaches are qualified to minimum of Level One. 2 coaches are Level 2 Candidates and I am a qualified Level 2 coach. The club has adopted the England Hockey Code of Conduct for players, Coaches and spectators, and can be viewed on our club website. We have several coaches who have attended Safeguarding Young Children Courses as we endeavour to provide a truly safe environment for the youngsters.

Just over a year ago, we were thrilled to be granted Accreditation and to prove our credentials to England Hockey as a safe and structured Hockey club providing opportunities for many. The Junior membership has grown remarkably over the past few years and this is testament to the coaching provided by our Volunteer coaches.
